    Description

WWII American Legion WELCOME BUDDIES Flag -- Altered w/ Cloth Ruptured Duck Affixed
Nice big size: 35.5" tall by 22.5" wide - Ruptured Duck Cloth Patch affixed to original banner/flag is 13" by 14.5"
As you can see from the pictures; There is a hole just on the top of the "S" in the word Buddies. There are a couple of smaller holes next to that, they are harder to see. There is some edge fraying on the right lower side and that measures approx. 4". The sewn on Ruptured Duck material is a slightly lighter blue. This is a heavier cloth, not silky type material - wool like. You can see from the pictures of the back of the flag this used to be just an American Legion flag, then it was altered to
    accommodate
service men returning with the Ruptured Duck insignia. There are two small holes in the white edge area where they had hung it (nail/pin holes)
Overall, a wonderfully intact historically significant piece from the WWII Era.
