Widely regarded as one of the greatest rock and roll acts of all time, Van Halen revolutionized the guitar rock genre with Eddie's innovative approach and the ongoing controversy surrounding the ever changing lead singer spot. Selling more than 80 million albums worldwide, Van Halen earned the Guinness Book of World Records title for the most number one hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Acts chart. According to the RIAA, Van Halen is #19 on the list of top selling artists of all time (having sold more than 56 million albums in the U.S.) and is one of only five rock groups that have had two albums sell more than 10 million copies in the U.S. VH won the Grammy in 1991 for the Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal and the band and its best known former members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. What a concert this must have been, with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals during their most commercially successful period.
