About Manufacturer
Suntech tools are manufactured in Taiwan (not mainland China) by Sunmatch, one of the larger pneumatic tool manufactures in the world with million dollars in annual sales. Sunmatch makes hudreds of different air tools and sells them wholesale to other companies who “rebrand” them as well-known brands.
For example, Sunmatch manufacturs many of the air tools sold by Husky, Jet, and Chicago Pneumatic. These tools are sold at Home Depot and other major retailers. Sunmatch also manufactures of the Sears Craftman Heavy Duty line of air tools. Sunmatch manufactures almost all of the tools sold in the United States under the brands Florida Pneumatic and Universal Tool, among many other brands.
Sunmatch recently entered the United States market with its house brand — Sunmatch. Sunmatch tools have been sold for many years in Australia, New Zealand, and a number of European and Asian markets. They are identical to models sold by Husky, Jet, and Chicago Pneumatic.
Suntech tools are good quality. They are not cheap Chinese junk. If you feed them clean air at the proper pressure and oil them regularly, they are reliable and hard working tools. Furthermore, the manufacturer provides detailed specifications for its tools, unlike many cheap chinese brands. When Suntech tools require parts from other brands, they use good quality — such as their extensive use of Jacobs brand chucks on their drills.
In short, you are not getting a Dynabrade quality or Chicago Pneumatic (USA made) quality. But those tools cost 5X to 10X as much as Sunmatch tools. What you are getting is a great value — better than average quality at a great price.
