    You are bidding on 1-3/4" MEDALLIC ART BRONZE MEDAL of American Composer, Stephen Collins Foster (1826-1864) struck for the HALL FOR GREAT AMERICANS at New York University. The medal is uncirculated in high relief. Composed songs, Swanee River, My Old Kentucky Home, Beautiful Dreamer and many others. We think of the banjo as his instrument. On front of medal left of portrait is a treble and bass clef.
    The design of the reverse side is intended to suggest the atmosphere of the plantation.
