s many fans of the original Winnie-the-Pooh books know, Piglet is Pooh's closest friend amongst all the toys/animals featured in the stories. Despite the fact that he is a "Very Small Animal" of a generally timid disposition, he tries to be brave and on occasion conquers his fears. In 1988, R. John Wright Dolls introduced their most popular rendition of Winnie-the-Pooh. Dubbed "Hunny Pot Pooh" the 14" bear captured the essence of of Winnie-the-Pooh as depicted by E. H. Shepard in the original Winnie-the-Pooh books by A. A. Milne. As a companion piece to
    Hunny Pot Pooh
    a 7" version of
    Piglet
    , was also produced.
"Piglet with Violets" is made of the finest custom-dyed all-wool felt with hand-set ears, delicate airbrushed coloring, and glass eyes.
    Piglet
wears a cotton knit jumpsuit in a soft custom-dyed spruce green color. The suit was embellished with the newly-introduced 'RJW' brass button. In one hand,
    Piglet
carried a bunch of violets - a favorite flower of his - handcrafted out of all-wool felt.
    Piglet with Violets
was produced over a 2-year period in an edition of 2,500 pieces. Each came enclosed in an exclusive deluxe presentation box with a reproduction of an original E. H. Shepard illustration of
    Piglet
on the lid. There was no certificate included with the
    Piglet with Violets
. Instead, collectors were given the option of sending in a small card which reads: "To receive a certificate of registration issued in the owner's name, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with this card and return to: R. J
