    Description

KIA Killed In Action WWII US 48 Star Burial Flag WW2 5'x10' w/Letters, Flag Card.  This flag is for Pfc. Thomas Ross, who was killed in action July 28, 1945 in the Pacific Theater.  This is an original linen burial flag issued to the family from the overseas cemetery. The original burial flag card and letter from the government are included. Also there are some letters written by Pfc. Ross. The flag is 5ft x 10ft and has numerous holes throughout (too many to photograph all of them). Despite the holes, the flag is structurally sound and would display okay.  Most of the stars have browning from storage and age. A real survivor that is well documented and should be preserved for future generations. Pfc. Ross is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Manila, Phillippines.
