    You are bidding on bronze 1-1/2" high relief MEDALLIC ART Co. medal of American composer-pianist, EDWARD ALEXANDER MacDOWELL (1861-1908) sculpted by German-American sculptor, C. Paul Jennewein (1890-1978) for "THE HALL OF FAME FOR GREAT AMERICANS," at New York University. The reverse reads, "Fama Semper Vivat," translated "The report should go on living."
    The rim reads, "MEDALLIC ART CO. NY BRONZE," and has no nicks.
    The medal is in VERY FINE condition
    MacDowell was a student of T. Carreno and studied in Paris with A, Marmontel.
    MacDowell was inducted into THE GREAT HALL in 1960; MacDowell was actually born in 1860, though medal says 1861.
