This is a 1999 Costume for a Gene doll that is in MINT condition in the original box, never removed. It was designed by Jose Ferrand. Unique "floating sleeves" make this stylish cocktail dress totally "Avant Garde", circa 1956. The carnation pink sleeveless dress features a fitted bodice, decorated with four black buttons. Deeply darted, the bodice tapers sharply to the waist, where the skirt blossoms from beneath. The skirt's fullness is supported by petticoats of shocking pink tulle. Matching armbands that "float" above the elbows serve as sleeves, giving the entire ensemble a futuristic look, a popular theme in the 1950's. A cap style hat with black bow trim, black bead earrings and necklace, black lace gloves and heels complete the outfit.
