it was 1974, dickey betts then billed as "richard betts" puts out his 1st album. he tours with vassar clements and other great musicians in the . this poster becomes a legend in concert poster folklore. there are 2 variants of this armadillo print. up for sale here is the color rich yellow-cream version. the other print was white with less color. this comes professionally framed. i searched for 17 years to acquire this gem. I bought it framed so i dont know its condition. it shows well in the frame. out of dougs allman cave, ships to lower 48 states only. this poster is very dear to me and i wont let go of it unless you bid a ridiculous amount of $ (which is what i paid for it.way too much. but i had to have it). Forrest Richard Betts wrote ELIZABETH REED, southbound, jessica, donna maria, high falls, back where it all begins, ramblin man, blue sky .......he sang, he wrote lyrics, he composed the music, arranged it and was the best guitar player to ever stand on stage with duane. dickey did the big guitar solos at the end of whipping post and you dont love me. duane led the guys and formed the band. dickey took them to the top of the pack in 1973. never doubt that dickey betts was key, "the cornerstone " essential to the bands sound and legacy. dickey i hope you read this. i will always sing your praises. thank god your son can play your leads to help those of us that need your music to continue. this is a small poster maybe 12x15 .approx. froms dougs allman cave. doug mckee an allman brothers band member wannabe. thank you dickey.
