Description
Extremely Rare, Mint Condition, Original, Unwritten Upon/ Unsigned/ Unused/ Uncirculated/ Extra Virgin,Allman Brothers Band Postcard (At and In the Creek)! From the Macon, GA musical days!
This is the very first piece of Allman Brothers memorabilia ever issued! Depicts the inside of their debut LP on Phil Walden's Capricorn label.
*The photo dates to the late Summer or early Fall of 1969 and the postcard was meant to coincide with the release of their first album, so the postcard would probably date to the Fall/Winter of 1969. Stephen Paley, the photographer, told me that it was Phil Walden's idea for the band to pose naked in the creek. The creek, by the way, ran between two properties - one owned by the Waldens and the other owned by Otis Redding's widow, Zelma.
Even though Capricorn was Phil Walden's label, the Allman Brothers' first two albums actually appeared on the Atco label. Atco was owned by Atlantic and Atlantic bankrolled Phil's Capricorn label. Atlantic Records bought Duane Allman's contract from Rick Hall (Fame Records in Muscle Shoals) for ,000 in 1969.

**I have owned this postcard and several other Creek scene postcards since the early 1970s. This is by far the nicest and unfortunately the very last one that I have. One of these
postcards
also hangs in the Allman Brothers Band Big House Museum in Macon, Ga. A must have for the serious ABB collector!
