    Description

In 1989 I made the trip out to california to see the allman brothers on the west coast. this was the dreams box set tour and warren and woody were brand new to the band. the sets included "duanes tune" from dickey's pattern disruptive cd. they also played "I'm no angel " and "I can't get over you" from gregg's newer solo cds. I attended these 3 shows and remember 2 things vividly......... FIRST.... at concord pavillion BERRY OAKLEY JR joined them on stage for southbound and one way out.  this was the first time he ever played in front of an audience with the allman bros.  ............. SECOND..... at cal expo dickey did the really long ending to whipping post. it was one of his best performances ever. these 3  shows were played in 3 day. the band members were in their early 40s. warren was probably in his mid 30s. the band had to prove to themselves and to the fans that the magic could be rekindled. the seven turn album wasn't even  an idea yet. they played the old songs from the first 4 albums mostly. the poster for sale here was designed and signed by randy tuten. this was his best effort and speaks loudly of his talent. these 3 shows were put on by the legendary BILL GRAHAM himself!!!! Bill often had randy tuten do the allman brothers posters for his fillmore east and west clubs in the 1970s. Bill Graham  was so excited that the allman brothers were doing a 20th anniversary reunion tour that he had to get things going for them in california. can you imagine Bill calling randy on the phone and telling him to design a really great poster for these 3 shows. WOW!!!! this is a 1st printing poster meaning it was printed before the concerts. it was one of the very few signed by randy tuten. I later asked berry oakley jr  to sign this. I spoke with berry and he remembered being nervous when going out on stage with his fathers band mates. this comes framed ... out of dougs allman cave. ships to lower 48 states only. thank you bill and randy. well done... and the allman brothers proved they weren't finished . doug mckee owner and curator of an allman brothers band museum. pictures of me and the band do not convey.
