In the 1950’s, 1960’s and early 1970’s plastic swizzle stir sticks were popular. Nowadays all you get is a straw if you are lucky. Patrons were encouraged to take the swizzles as a way for them to spread the word and advertise the venue. As time goes by these relics will continue to grow in value.
As is typical for Canada from the swizzles are flamboyant. Look close, the mermaid, baseball bat and trumpet player each are worth the price by themselves.
